Cupcakes, cocktails and art, oh my! Stop by this free event Friday evening to enjoy complimentary hand-crafted cocktails and Dolce Terra cupcakes as you peruse an artisan market with original pieces from more than eighty Austin artists! Austin’s Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Austin! Come wish your favorite city a happy 179th birthday at Republic Square Park, where Austin’s first land auction took place back in 1839! This all-day event is free, open to all ages, pet friendly and will host live music acts, fun family activities, tons of ATX eats, and much more from open to close! The fun kicks off at 9am – see you there!

National Beer Day: Free Beer-Infused Chocolate Tasting
11 AM | Delysia Chocolatier    
Chocolate + Beers = Cheers! National Beer Day is this weekend, and in honor of the special occasion, Delysia Chocolatier is hosting a free tasting of their finest, lager-inspired treats. Enjoy a Modelo truffle with spices, spiked cider truffles featuring Austin Eastciders, and more! Raise your glass to chocolate and beer with this fun, free event – no reservations necessary! 

5th Annual Austin Rubber Duck Derby
11 AM | Ann Richards Bridge    
Start your engines duckies! The 5th Annual Austin Duck Derby will be held this weekend, benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Austin, and will feature food, music and tons of family-friendly activities! $5 ducks are still available for purchase, register yours now for a chance to win fantastic prizes! Even if you don’t plan to race yourself, come support the Boys & Girls Club and see the spectacle of thousands of eco-friendly rubber ducks racing down the river! 2nd Street District White Linen Block Party
6 PM | W 2nd Street     

Grab your best white linen outfit (because obviously, you have multiple) and head out to this ticketed block party, benefitting SAFE and the Austin Food & Wine Alliance, which will feature bites from some of Austin’s favorite restaurants as well as wine pairings and beer from 4th Tap Brewing Co-op, as well as live music from Austin’s favorite soul and R&B musician, Taméca Jones. Austin Pet Expo
11 AM | Travis County Expo Center  

The Austin Pet Expo is a “woofing, chirping and meowing good time for the whole family!” Bring your furry friends for some delicious treats and “spa treatments” from local groomers. Moms and Dads can learn pet-care tips from top Austin trainers and animal welfare organizations. Other activities include an agility demonstration, pet talent and costume shows, and an exciting pet/owner look-alike contest, plus adorable and adoptable animals showcased by area non-profit rescue groups! Best of all, admission to this event is totally free!

 

Landmarks Tour feat. Art from the Met
10 AM | Bass Concert Hall 
   
NYC is coming to Austin this weekend at Bass Concert Hall with Landmarks’ tour of art on loan from the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The collection, which features “striking examples of postwar and contemporary sculpture from influential artists,” is completely free, open to all ages, and sure to dazzle. More info here

 

Austin Yoga Meet-Up
11 AM | Travis County Expo Center
