The Native American Cultural Center
The Native American Cultural Center was founded in 1991, after Austin Native American members returned from the historic White House Conference on Native Americans. Since that time, the Native American Cultural Center has worked to connect the Native American community with the public, educational institutions, museums, government agencies and corporations for a more accurate understanding of both historical and modern Native American customs, traditions and lifestyles. Organized and incorporated in 1992, the Native American Cultural Center reaches beyond borders to find artists and ambassadors to carry out its mission.
The Austin Powwow is a family friendly event presented by the Native American Cultural Center. Seeking to engage the public by promoting traditional arts and knowledge, dispelling myths and encouraging appreciation of this rich and diverse culture. Thousands of visitors have the opportunity to share in this exciting cultural experience.
