Taylor Swift recently announced on her official website: “All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.”
Swift’s first 6 studio albums, music videos, concert films, album art, unreleased sons, and her entire life’s work were officially handed back over to her after a lengthy deal was finalized with Big Machine Record’s most recent owner.
Since 2021, Swift has been attempting to regain control over her music by re-releasing some of her past albums under the title “Taylor’s Version.” Fans have speculated that her 2017 album Reputation was next in the lineup of re-records. In today’s announcement, Swift admitted that she hasn’t “even rerecorded a quarter of it” but that she has completely rerecorded her debut album “and I really love how it sounds now.”
Sounds like fans should keep an ear out for new (re-recorded) music coming soon!
