Our friends at the Central Texas Food Bank are putting on four food distribution events during the month of July, and are putting out notice both for folks who find themselves in need of food assistance, and those of you who have some spare time to show up and volunteer for a vital, rewarding cause. The first of these July events happens this Thursday morning starting at 8am at Nelson Field in northeast Austin.
Checking up on Moving Panoramas this morning – and yes, I know I’m late to this game – I came across Electric Ladybird, an online service of the Austin Public Library. It’s a super-accessible source for new local Austin music – a really well-curated, well-organized and searchable rabbit hole to dive into at a moment when our local music venues are shuttered, and our local artists need all the exposure they can get.
And…Happy Birthday Ringo Starr! He’s 80 today.
