This year’s Trail of Lights at Zilker Park, as is the case with pretty much everything, will look a little different due to the pandemic, but it’s on!

If you’re an on-campus student or staff member at any AISD school, or if one of those folks lives with you, you can get a free rapid COVID test this week.

Nice writeup on Paul McCartney over the weekend in the New York Times – you might need a subscription to read it, but you were needing a subscription anyway.

The ever-so-cheerful and ever-so-humble Liam Gallagher is out with a new holiday jam.

And finally, remembering actor David Prowse, best known as the actor in the Darth Vader suit through all of the original Star Wars trilogy – but also the buff and bespectacled manservant in the last act of 1971’s A Clockwork Orange. This clip is in German, but demonstrates Prowse’s imposing physical presence, whereby George Lucas is said to have picked him for the Vader part. (As a side note, A Clockwork Orange remains the last movie I’ve seen in a theater – I caught a screening at the Alamo Ritz in March, just as the pandemic began.)
