Austin-Area COVID-19 Deaths Climb to 8

Austin Public Health is reporting six deaths related to the coronavirus outbreak in Austin and Travis County.  A total of 484 cases have been confirmed as of Monday, April 6, 2020.

In Williamson County, 77 cases are reported, as well as a second death.  Over the weekend, officials say a man in his 50s succumbed to the illness.

Hays County’s total number of confirmed cases is 54, but only 41 of those cases are still active.  13 patients have made recoveries.  No deaths have occurred in Hays County.

Bastrop County has climbed to a total of ten cases, and is reporting no deaths.

Caldwell County, while also reporting zero deaths, has seen its number of confirmed cases jump up to 11.

Across Texas, the Department of State Health Services is showing 127 deaths among 6812 cases.  152 of Texas’ 254 counties have reported at least one case.
