Gwen Stefani IS Pregnant!

FINALLY, we have some proof after a month and a half of speculation. Tabloids in all shades of reputability exploded in early September with news that Gwen and Gavin Rossdale were expecting baby #3, but the singer and fashion icon declined to deny or confirm the rumors. Technically she still has not released official word, but Rachel Zoe shared this undeniable evidence from Beverly Hills' Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala the other night on Instagram:
That's definitely a baby bump, y'all. Before I go on, can we talk about how ageless Gwen is? The woman just turned 44 on October 3rd, yet she doesn't look a day older than she did when Tragic Kingdom was released in 1995. Damn, girlfriend. Just, damn.
Anyway - this is all bit shocking, considering Gwen revelead in her Vogue magazine cover story back in January that she and Gavin had tried for a third edition to their family but it "didn't work out." Now excited No Doubters everywhere are hoping for a little girl to join brothers Kingston, 7, and Zuma, 5 (I may or may not have named my cats after them). They are also, however, receiving this news with mixed emotions, because it means major delays for a new album and the next tour.
With the exception of Rock Steady, the band is notorious for taking their time between records. There was a five year gap between "Just a Girl" and Return of Saturn, and we sat in the waiting room for ELEVEN YEARS between "Hey Baby" and last year's Push & Shove. Sure, we got two solo EP's from Gwen during that time (2004's Love. Angel. Music. Baby. and 2006's The Sweet Escape), but even Gwen herself admitted during a No Doubt reunion performance on American Idol in 2009 that much of the downtime was "her fault" because she spent so much creative energy on making a couple humans (not to mention a few clothing lines - L.A.M.B., Harajuku Lovers, and now Harajuku Mini) that she didn't have any left over to dedicate to writing music. Fans can only assume that the seven or so songs guitarist Tom Dumont reports have been written for their next effort will remain unheard for at least our next couple trips around the sun.
Regardless of what form it takes, I'm thrilled there's going to be a little more Gwen in the world. Congratulations to the Stefani-Rossdale family!
