March 29-31 Weekend Suggestions

Lemme blow the dust off this blog that accumulated during SXSW ...
All weekend (and through the next week, I think); there is some free, temporary, interactive, public art that takes up the whole GSD&M lawn at 828 West 6th St. The interactive part is what got my attention. It's supposed to be fun for all ages - worth a stroll by, anyway.
Today is the last day to register for Jo's 14th Annual Pet Parade & Costume Contest! Do that for $10-15 at joscoffee.com. Proceeds benefit Austin Pets Alive! This is at the South Congress location and will start at noon tomorrow (Saturday).
There's bound to be at least one wiener in a hot dog costume that might make you hungry, so it's good to know that afterward you can head over to Austin Moose Lodge No 1735 (2103 E.M. Franklin Ave) for their Fourth Almost Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational. At this point it's too late to register to compete, but only $5 will get you in the door for tastings starting at 2p. I'll meet you on your way out with some laxatives.
Last, but certainly not least - and this one is a bit more spendy, at $40-60 - is Electric Run Austin. Lighting artists and technicians from the likes of Dreamworks Animation, Las Vegas, and Coachella teamed up to create this 5K run, performance, participation art, and celebration of life at the Travis County Expo Center. Apparently it's close to sold out, so don't wait to get your tickets. Looks like a crazy party:
