Meet Our SXSW W Hotel Artists: Walk Off The Earth
Posted 3/4/2013 12:15:00 PM

Not to be confused with Walk the Moon, who played our SXSW Morning Broadcasts last year, Walk off the Earth is set to perform for us Friday morning at 8am. The number of instruments they plan on playing remains to be seen.

Jokes aside - sure, this Canadian five-piece band may have gotten major attention for covering Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" on one guitar ...

... but the 35 million views that video got in less than two weeks helped highlight the original music they've been working on for the past 6 years (their debut album was released in 2007). Smart move! And the brains behind this operation belong to multi-instrumentalist Gianni Luminati Nicassio. Aside from having a heavy hand in the music itself, he has also produced all three of their albums AND music videos.

And non-music videos. He and bandmate Sarah Blackwood stayed true to form and announced via YouTube that they are currently expecting a baby together!

HOW CUTE IS THIS BAND?! OK, ok, one more video ... here's the official effort for their song "Red Hands" off their EP R.E.V.O. which we are currently playing on KGSR. Enjoy!
