For those of us who were stuck in the city this past weekend during the sold-out Newport Folk Festival, you can still get your dose of country and blues by watching NPR's live concert videos. Wilco, Alabama Shakes and Dawes are just a few of the bands that made it on to NPR's list of recordings so far.

Wilco kept it classic as they opened with a Woody Guthrie song and closed out their set with his daughter, Sarah Lee. Other artists that performed over the weekend included Jackson Browne, Conor Oberst and My Morning Jacket, who pulled Alabama Shakes' lead singer, Brittany Howard, on-stage to perform with them.

The Newport Folk Festival has been a yearly celebration in Rhode Island of story-telling and musicianship since 1959. Although folk has been reviving, evolving, expanding and reviving again, this festival is able to keep up with the ever-changing boundaries while still keeping the tradiitional folk spirit strong.
