Last Thursday, Paste Magazine released a list of the "12 Texas Bands You Should Listen to Now." And not only were three of them local, they will probably be pretty familiar with them.
First up is folk band Wild Child, who released their sophomore, Ben Kweller-produced album, The Runaround, in 2013. Wild Child have a pretty impressive resumé so far, including performing on Last Call with Carson Daly and having one of their songs featured in a Purina Cat food commercial. Also, The Austin Chronicle named them the "Best Indie" band and "Best Folk" band last year.

Another Austin artist featured on Paste's list was Shakey Graves, the one-man band also known as Alejandro Rose-Garcia. Rose-Garcia makes "hobo folk and blues" by way of fingerpicking his guitar and playing a suitcase-turned-kick drum. He has released two albums so far, 2011's Roll the Bones and 2012's Donor Blues EP, and is currently working on an LP, to be released sometime this year.

And finally, Austin artist Max Frost was also featured on the list, who is no stranger to KGSR. Frost dropped out of college in 2012 to pursue a solo career and signed to Atlantic Records in 2013. Since then, he has toured with Gary Clark, Jr., performed at the most recent Austin City Limits festival, and had his single "White Lies" featured in a recent Beats by Dre commercial.
