Adele to Perform 'Skyfall' at the Oscars

She may have recently won a Golden Globe and had a baby, but Adele isn’t slowing down any time soon. The Grammy winner will perform her hit “Skyfall,” the theme song for the James Bond film of the same name, at the 85th Academy Awards Ceremony. This performance will be the first time she will have performed “Skyfall” anywhere live and her first U.S. performance since last year's Grammy Awards.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Wednesday that Adele will sing the Oscar-nominated song at the 85th annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24, at which she and producer Paul Epworth are nominated for best original song.

After a break from the spotlight due to her pregnancy, Adele recently appeared at Golden Globe and won an award for the song there. So this announcement isn't much of a surprise considering her award show ubiquity. The song just so happens to be the first Bond theme ever to debut in Billboard’s top 10 and the first to be nominated for an Oscar since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981.
