Former Genesis frontman and successful solo artist Phil Collins might have been the last person on earth who had never heard of Adele. But, as she recently reached out to him about collaborating on writing some new tunes, he has now joined the rest of us.
"I wasn't actually too aware [of her]," Collins said. "I live in a cave [but] she's achieved an incredible amount and I really love her voice and I love some of the stuff she's done."
Collins said that "it's always an eye-opener" to work with new people, calling it "educational."
Having previously announced he was retiring from music in 2011, Collins said in December 2013 that he was writing again. Adele herself hasn't released an album since 2011's 21, but perhaps we'll be hearing some of what the two Brits come up with on a new effort soon.
In the meantime, check out this fan-made mashup of "In the Air Tonight" and "Set Fire to the Rain" which we hope is what we can expect from the duo's efforts.
