THREE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
When I was in grade school I used to tell everyone that I was related to Billy Joel. I used to make up elaborate stories about him coming to our house for the holidays.
My most annoying habit is that I think I can imitate any singer’s voice perfectly. I have been told by friends, family, and pretty much everyone I have ever met that I sound nothing like the singers I am trying to imitate, but that hasn’t stopped me.
My favorite place on earth is my dad’s garage. There is no problem be it, mechanical, emotional, or physical that cannot be worked out over a couple of beers in my dad’s garage.

My favorite band is No Doubt. I’ll stop there or I’ll keep going forever.
In high school, I was simultaneously in two theater programs and three choirs. One of those choirs recorded CD’s and toured in Europe. That experience took me to England, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany.
The only sport I care about is hockey. Let’s go Flyers!

THREE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
I’m briefly name-checked on page 458 of Walter Issacson’s Steve Jobs biography — a book that will likely be read in high school and college classrooms a hundred years from now. Sadly, whatever I achieve from here on out, that mention might well wind up as my lasting legacy.
A man should have heroes. These are some of mine: Philip Roth. Joe DiMaggio. Don Rickles. Muhammad Ali. Willie Nelson. Larry King. Johnny Carson. Dave Kingman. Milton Berle. George Clooney. Jim Henson. Bill Clinton.
Best advice I’ve ever been given: “Nobody wins a Twitter war.” Second best: All 452 pages of Robert Greene’s 48 Laws Of Power.

THREE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
I have been called a “music nerd.” I admit, I am obsessed with it in most of its forms. Live music is one of my passions as well. I recently went to nine shows in eleven days. Yes, I’m happily addicted.
I live in the country. I watch the sunset almost every night that I’m home. Gardening is another one of my loves. I have had to stop myself from posting pictures of my vegetables on facebook — except for that heart-shaped tomato photo.
I own an accordion. Shut up.

THREE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
My father spent over 40 years in the music industry with CBS Records, Sony Music and Universal — I was "raised in the business." Moved to Atlanta by the age of 5, where I grew up and remained throughout childhood due to the success of Michael Jackson's Thriller album.
Despite the fact that I'm a Florida grad, my mother went into initial labor pains with me, now, DKR-Memorial Stadium during a Texas/Arkansas football game here in Austin in 1973. So I'm naturally a huge Longhorn fan, as well! HOOK'EM!
My first concert was at the age of 4, on my father's shoulders, for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's Darkness on the Edge of Town tour stop in Dallas in 1978, including backstage with The Boss, which I remember to this day.

THREE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME
As a child I took naps in recording booths or backstage during studio sessions of jingles, album recordings, musicals, and operas. It wasn’t unusual for guys from the Blues Brothers & Saturday Night Live band to stop by my parents' pad when I was a kid. The first concert I went to on my own was the Grateful Dead at Madison Square Garden when I was a junior in high school.
My radio journey began in the 90’s at the legendary 97X WOXY in Oxford, OH — a Modern Rock station that was frequently included in Top 10 Best Radio Station lists along with KGSR in publications like Rolling Stone and Spin.
Also, I'm a Minnesota landowner. Find me there if we have the foretold zombie apocalypse.

I'm forever on the hunt for the best Michelada in Austin. My love of this delightfully refreshing beverage began honestly in South Texas where I grew up. Down there we call them Clamato Preparadas, and you can get them in drive-thrus. Not even joking.
I love red things. Accessories, nail polish, shoes, lipstick. My antidote for a depressing day is carefully applying a perfect red lip and then just taking over the world. Oh, also my hair is red. Betcha could've guessed that.
Karaoke is like siren song. Anytime a person mentions that we might karaoke, I'm in the car driving down the road before "...oke" is even said. Find me at Ego's basement bar, beverage in hand, poring over those decrepit song lists.
