TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF FOUNDATION HOSTS RUN FOR ALL
CITY’S ONLY EVENING HALLOWEEN RACE KICKS OFF NIGHT OF FESTIVITIES
On Saturday, October 19, 2013, Austinites will gather at Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), located at 1102 S. Congress Ave., for the Run For All Festival, featuring the city’s only Halloween-themed evening 5K, Austin’s first fully professional track meet and a movie screening. Adults and children of all ages are invited to run or walk the 5K course around the Texas School for the Deaf campus, which students groups and event sponsors will decorate for the festival.
Run for All will be open from 5:30–10 p.m., with the 5K starting at 6:30 p.m., the pro track meet at 7:30 p.m. and the movies at 8:30 p.m. Registration for the 5K is $30 and includes admission to the track meet and movie night. Spectator tickets for the festival will be $10.
Proceeds from Run for All will support the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation’s mission to bring language and literacy to the deaf and hard of hearing children in Texas. The TSD Foundation funds and supports the activities of the Texas School for the Deaf, where each deaf and hard of hearing student is allowed to learn, grow, and belong.
Run For All is part of a series of community awareness and fundraising activities in TSD’s Language For All campaign whose overall mission is to inspire Texans to support the fundamental right to language access for all of its citizens, including the over 7,000 deaf and hard of hearing children throughout the state.
