Austin MDA Muscle Walk MusicFest!

· Rattle Inn
· Sunday, February 17, 2013
· 2 - 7:30pm

On Sunday, February 17th “Amadeo’s Army” will be hosting the first ever Austin MDA Muscle
Walk MusicFest, open to ALL AGES, at the Rattle Inn, 610 Nueces St., from 2:00pm to 7:30pm.
A $10 donation at the door gets each attendee a free drink ticket & 2 raffle tickets. All
donations and proceeds including the sale of “Amadeo’s Army” t‐shirts, koozies & bracelets go
to Austin MDA.

“Amadeo’s Army” began participating in the Austin MDA Muscle Walk 2 years ago as Team
Andrade in honor of 9 year old Amadeo Andrade who was diagnosed with Becker’s Muscular
Dystrophy at age 5. Becker’s MD, a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle
wasting and weakness in the skeletal & heart muscles, has not stopped Amadeo from
challenging himself and others to find a cure. Last year, his team raised over $23,000. Amadeo
was selected by competing teams to present the MDA Muscle Walk donation check live on the
Austin MDA Telethon. Austin’s local chapter is currently serving 700 families in 11 counties in
Central Texas. This year, Amadeo’s Army has set the bar even higher, inviting the entire Austin Community to get
involved. From change drives and speaking to classrooms at his school (Negley Elementary in Kyle, TX) about MD;
t‐shirt, koozie & bracelet sales; events at the Austin Flea Market to an all‐out Music Fest, Amadeo is leading his
Army fearlessly in the name of all those living with Muscular Dystrophy. A true Community Champion.
