Marcia Ball - Blues On The Green - June 25

The 2nd installment of KGSR's 2008 Blues On The Green series featured award-winning pianist and Alligator Recording artist Marcia Ball - who as usual, did not dissapoint the crowd (estimated andmore than 6,000). Featuring songs from her new release Peace Love & BBQ, Ball once again proved why she is an internationally renown musician who has taken the lead of her mentors like Dr. John and Pinetop Perkins and has now become their peers. (Check Ball's appearance in Clint Eastwood's contribution to the PBS series "The Blues" to see her interact with such greats).

With her crack band, Ball not only played songs from her new CD, but favorites from throughout her 25 years of blues recordings. Ball also brought a taste of controversy to the show with some onstage remarks that received coverage on television news and in the
Statesman.

Marcia is the only performer to play every Blues On The Green show at Zilker Park and we look forward to having her again in 2009.
