Hot New Spots In Austin

Austin Uncovered

There's no further proof that Austin is growinggrowinggrowing than the sheer number of buzzy Austin businesses that are opening each week. This past week was especially outrageous/awesome. Below are five hot new spots in Austin.

Olamaie Southern Food

Seems like we've been waiting forever. This elegant southern restaurant is housed in an 83-year old home with a parlor and a great room. Try their off menu biscuits. Cocktails at 5pm and dinner seatings begin at 5:30.

The Highball

The long anticipated re-opening has finally happened! With new karaoke rooms but the same fabulous cocktails, the Highball space is smaller but no less rat pack. The heirloom martini is my favorite here and you don't want to miss karaoke apocalypse.

Jacoby's

Fourth generation cattle & hog farmer, Adam Jacoby, brings Jacoby's Mercantile to Austin from Melvin, TX. The restaurant abuts the Colorado River and is beautifully designed. Features family-raised meats & locally sourced veggies.

Sugar Mama's Eastside

Olivia O'Neal bring Sugar Mama's to Manor Road. They serve decadent cupcakes, desserts, cheesecakes, cheeseboards and serve beer and wine at this location. Who doesn't need a sweet treat and a glass of champagne on Mondays?

Dai Due Butcher Shop & Supper Club

Dai Due opens their brick and mortar! From farmers market stand to outstanding restaurant. They retain the butcher shop in the front but have created a lovely refuge from your day. This is the supper club of your dreams and you can pick up a locally sourced steak for the next day.
