Hopdoddy's Ghost Pepper Burger Sampled by Bright Light Social Hour
Texans aren't afraid of a little heat, but would you be willing to sign a waiver in order to eat a burger?
A few brave Austinites did, including Jack O'Brien and Curtis Roush of the Bright Light Social Hour, David Bull, the executive chef at Congress, and City Council candidate, Sharon Mays to name a few. Hopdoddy has a Ghostland Burgatory sandwich, complete with three types of peppers, which includes the world's hottest pepper: the ghost pepper.
If you're thinking what I'm thinking, then why on earth would anyone participate in this kind of mouth torture? Apparently, it's a unique kind of rush that can actually be quite enjoyable. That is, if breaking out into sweat over your entire body and breathing fire is something you like to do for fun.
Feel free to try the burger yourself. OR, you can just watch the video below and vicariously live through these
crazy daring people.
It's not often that eating a dish requires you to sign a waiver, but the Ghostland Burgatory at Texas patty joint Hopdoddy isn't your average burger — it's packed with three types of peppers, including the mouth-numbing ghost pepper (which measures a whopping 1 million Scoville units). We rounded up a few brave Austinites who were willing to take a risk and give the taste-bud-blazing sandwich a try. Check out their reactions in the video above.
