Listen: Jamestown Revival Interview
If there's one song that gets me emotional (ok, there are a lot), it's "California (Cast Iron Soul)" by Jamestown Revival. If you've ever left home to move away, it probably hits you, too.
Jonathan and Zach from JTR called into the KGSR Morning Show today because we couldn't wait until Thursday to talk to them. They're back living in Austin (confirmed that this morning) and we pretty much just talked about everything we love about Austin.
Jamestown Revival is kicking off Unplugged at the Grove on Thursday, April 9th. (It's free)
Part 1: Kelly and Jonathan talk about the song "California (Cast Iron Soul)" and how the move to the West Coast just made him miss Texas even more. "Texas is home, it's running through my blood... It feels like home and when we left it, it felt like something was off."
Part 2: Zach joins the conversation and they talk about which part of Austin they live in and how they plan to stay here. Jonathan and Zach talk about how it's an exciting time for Austin bands and artists.
Part 3: Kelly asks the guys, "What was the worst gig you ever had?" These guys are good sports. Look at them now; no bad gigs.
Part 4: Kelly has the guys play This or That. Questions include: Queso or Guacamole? Breakfast tacos or migas? South Austin or North Austin? And finally, California or Texas?
