Watch: The story behind "Cleopatra" by The Lumineers

A good friend of mine once called Wesley Schultz (of the Lumineers) this generation's Bob Dylan.  High praise for a songwriter in a band that has released just two albums: the self-titled The Lumineers in 2012, and Cleopatra in 2016.

I see where she draws the comparison, however , in that these songs are not only so inherently catchy they seem like they're woven into the fabric of our lives - but that the thought and storytelling behind each set of lyrics is so poetic.

In this video, Wesley discusses the song "Cleopatra" that KGSR is playing now.  I expect nothing but more amazing things to come from The Lumineers - who will be spending a good portion of 2017 on the road touring with U2 (!)
