More than a dozen wildfires are sweeping across Northern California. The fires started Sunday night and quickly spread due to a combination of dry conditions and heavy wind. As of Tuesday, least 15 people have died, and more than 180 are missing. Another 100 people are injured, and about 25,000 have been forced to evacuate. It's unclear what caused the fires. Firefighters are still working to contain them.

These  are some of the deadliest wildfires in California's history. Gov. Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency, and has asked the US gov for emergency aid.

For those concerned about family and friends in the area that may have been affected by the fires, the Red Cross has set up a way to search the list of those who have registered themselves as “safe and well.”
