This morning, President Trump tweeted that he is closely monitoring storm damage and flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey from Camp David and that he's "leaving nothing to chance."

Yesterday, we learned that the president signed a Disaster Proclamation for Texas at the request of Governor Greg Abbott. The proclamation will provide a wide range of federal assistance to the state.

Today, Governor Abbott told the media that at this time, there are no confirmed or unconfirmed reports of fatalities following Harvey's arrival to the coast late Friday night.

Harvey was a Category Four hurricane when it first hit the Texas Gulf Coast and has now been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.
