Hurricane Harvey Makes Landfall

Hurricane Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 storm with 130 mph winds on Friday night between Port Aransas and Port O'Connor, Texas.

According to the National Hurricane Center during its 10 p.m. update, the center of the storm has passed over San Jose Island, bringing with it a dangerous and powerful eye wall.

Additionally, the hurricane center has warned that some areas will see as much as 13 feet of storm surge,
a danger of life-threatening inundation from rising water moving inland from the coastline in the indicated locations, and large, destructive waves.
