Los Lonely Boys

Los Lonely Boys

Every detail of Los Lonely Boys' implausible storyline is genuine. From their humble beginnings in Central Texas to their current status as one of the world's baddest power trios — and every chart-topping, multi-platinum-selling, Grammy-winning step in between — the brothers Garza are living a fairy tale.

Guitarist Henry, bassist JoJo and drummer Ringo are silky-voiced sons of a lifelong singer who taught them to play at a very early age; the gifted youngsters became father Enrique's backing band before they'd reached their teens, honing their chops in roadhouses and clubs all over Texas and, briefly, in Nashville.

By 2004, when their self-titled debut landed (featuring the mega-hit "Heaven"), they'd relocated to Austin and developed a style of Tex-Mex blues rock with a pop twist — "Texican" music they call it — that borrows from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Santana as much as from Ritchie Valens and the Beatles. Predicated on Henry's throwback guitartistry, JoJo's crystalline voice, the brothers' endearing original songs and succulent three-part harmonies, Los Lonely Boys were — and still are — like no other pop band.

Los Lonely Boys have since issued a live CD and DVD (they're best live, where the sheer power of their music, coupled with some must-be-seen-to-be-appreciated guitar tricks, make them a crowd-pleaser) and shared stages with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Carlos Santana. Filmmaker Hector Galan made the documentary Cottonfields And Crossroads about their lives, and they've been joined on CD by super fan and friend Willie Nelson and recorded one of their songs with Santana. In 2006, they returned with the popular studio CD, Sacred, and 2008 brought the Steve Jordan-produced Forgiven. With each new chapter, Los Lonely Boys defy reason with the one thing that makes theirs such a great story: it's all true.
