In June, at Bonnaroo, Jack Johnson stepped in at the last minute to replace Mumford & Sons. The day before the headlining gig, I MC'd a private press-only performance and a chunk of my Q&A from that day is featured in this new behind-the-scenes mini-doc on Jack and his Bonnaroo experience.

Jack Johnson's new album, From Here To Now To You, is out on Tuesday.

The lineup included Norah Jones, Doyle Bramhall II, Jakob Dylan, Jason Isbell, Ian McLagan, Erika Wennerstrom of Heartless Bastards, Lukas Nelson, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Butch Walker, The Whigs, Ruby Amanfu, Amanda Shires, Cory Chisel & Adriel Denae, The Whiskey Sisters, Nolan Wheeler, Josh Lattanzi of The Candles and the potential for suprise guests.

Better yet, it's a benefit for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.

READ: Blues On The Green Headliner Bob Schneider's Songwriting Game

Posted 7/1/2013 4:12:00 PM

Sunday, a piece I wrote about Bob Schneider's songwriting game appeared in the Texas edition of the New York Times.

The story, "Take a Phrase, Wrap It in a Song, E-Mail It on Friday" is available HERE. Schnedier has been playing the game since 2001. It involves an invitation-only e-mail list that challenges musicians to turn in a new song every Friday. The song has to incorporate a preselected term or phrase. Most of Schnedier's songs, including all but one song on his new Burden Of Proof album, come from the game.

Bob plays our next Blues On The Green on July 10 in Zilker Park.
