ACL Festival Guide

10/3/2013

ACL is upon us (again), so we've put together a little guide to help you survive the festival. Round 2!

PLAN AHEAD

Take a look at the park map and the schedule ahead of time. Yeah, you'll be able to figure out exactly what you want to do when you get there, but it really helps to have a bit of a plan. If there's an artist you reeeeeeally want to see, go to that stage early. Even though ACL is two weekend this year, it's still going to be packed.

If you're not sure who to go see or if you have time to skill in between sets, check out our staff picks for shows.

TRANSPORTATION

You can NOT park at Zilker, but there are several other ways to get to the festival.

If you must drive, you can park downtown. You can also take shuttles and buses as well as bike, walk, or swim there. Okay, you can't really swim there, but we really would suggest ditching the car and finding a different form of transportation. But, if you really can't, then carpool becasue parking is going to be insanely difficult.

And here's a heat map of the congestion you'll find downtown thanks to ACL (courtesy of Austin Post).
