David Bowie Releases New Material

Today, David Bowie celebrates 66 years of life and gives the world an unexpected surprise, his newest single, "Where Are You Now?" Bowie returns from musical hibernation (his last single was released in 2003) to tease us with the new track, a glimpse of his 30th studio album, The New Day, out this March.

What's even better about Bowie's birthday present to the music world is the music video shot in Berlin. In the video, Bowie travels through the streets of Berlin to his favorite places of the past.

Stream Gary Clark Jr.'s Austin City Limits TV Appearance!

Austin's own rising star, rock 'n' soul phenomenon Gary Clark Jr. makes his highly-anticipated return to Austin City Limits (ACL) this week, and ACL announces the taping will be live-streamed in the U.S. on Friday, November 30^th at 8pm Central Time.

Fans can log-on to ACL's YouTube Channel and will have the opportunity to watch Gary Clark Jr. perform live direct from The Moody Theater in downtown Austin. The live-stream will webcast the taping in its entirety and the broadcast episode will air February 16^th, 2013 on PBS stations as part of ACL's Season 38.

Gary Clark Jr. has been tearing up Austin stages since he was a teenager, and the twenty-eight year old singer-guitarist recently made a name for himself across the globe with the release of his critically acclaimed major-label debut Blak and Blu. Entertainment Weekly raves, "Every generation has its chosen one and right now, this is Clark's time." Austin American Statesman says, “The kid used to be a local secret. Then the rest of the world caught on.” The New York Times hails Clark as “a guitarist of deep magnetism and tremendous feel,” while Billboard calls him a “game-changer” and Spin agrees, “There truly is nobody else like him around.” Known for his blistering live performances, Clark has been on a sold-out U.S. tour flaunting his six-string chops and thrilling audiences with his bold mix of blues, rock, soul and funk.

Clark made his auspicious ACL debut back in Season 33 as part of the Tribute to Bluesman Jimmy Reed, with Jimmie Vaughan and Omar Dykes, impressing his fellow musicians and ACL's viewers. On November 30^th, he takes the Austin City Limits stage to show what he can do with his own music.

Dave Grohl announced as 2013 SXSW Music Keynote Speaker

Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl is slated to be keynote speaker for SXSW Music 2013. The keynote will take place on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Austin Convention Center, the hub of SXSW Music events. Following the end of Nirvana, Grohl took center stage, forming Foo Fighters, on whose 1995 self-titled debut he wrote, recorded and sang every note–save for one guitar track. Foo Fighters have since grown into arguably the last great American arena/stadium rock band, with 2011's Wasting Light debuting at #1 in the U.S. and 11 other countries while over the years The Colour & The Shape (1997), There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999), One By One (2002), In Your Honor (2005), Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2007) have raked in 11 Grammy Awards, sold 25 million copies and spawned anthems like "Everlong," "Monkey Wrench," "My Hero," "Learn To Fly," "All My Life," "Best Of You," "The Pretender," "Walk," and more.

The Civil Wars Cancel Tour Dates, Cite Irreconcilable Differences of Ambition

Though they maintain that they still hope to release music in the future, indie folk duo The Civil Wars have decided to cancel their tour dates, citing "internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition" in a post on their Facebook page. The band encourages fans who have purchased tickets to email them about reimbursement for non-refundable charges.

She's booked to headline ACL Live tonight, but on her way into town, Fiona Apple was arrested in Sierra Blanca, TX for hash posession. No word on whether or not her show tonight will be called off, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as details are announced.

Aimee Mann (of 'Til Tuesday stardom) has come out with a music video for her new song "Labrador." But if you're an 80's fan and dig the old music video for "Voices Carry" then you'll think this new one looks a little familar. Actually, a LOT familiar.

Jon Hamm (from Mad Men) is the director for the video and legally binds Aimee into making a frame-by-frame recreation of "Voices Carry" with Jon Wurster as the creepy, over-bearing boyfriend.
